This Sunday – 28 June

Dear MHP Friends,

On Sunday Rev. Dr. John-Peter Smit will lead us in worship.  The sermon title is “What you get is not what you see”.  Scripture passages are from 1 Samuel 15:34 – 16:13, Mark 4:26-34 and the Responsive Psalm 20.

Men’s ties are being collected for 2 more Sundays as people are requesting more time to select and donate from their extended families and work colleagues.  The response is really growing and the Mission and Outreach team is most grateful.

Please remember to register your child (ren), if interested in attending VBS (Vacation Bible School), August 17-21 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through our MHP office.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at our worship service.

In Christ,

Hildy Stollery

This Sunday – 19 April

Dear Friends,

On Sunday, April 19 we shall combine several resonating events in our EARTH DAY worship service which has been arranged by members of our GREEN TEAM.

There will be a baptism of a 5th generation child born to an MHP Church founding family.  Since we are in the midst of our 125th Anniversary year (November 2014 – November 2015) this particular baptism speaks eloquently to our past and our future.  As well, baptisms always link our hearts and minds to thoughts of renewal, new beginnings, and promises of taking special care of all new life in a sacred and physical way.  Our guest baptismal minister is Rev. Zander Dunn, father of Kirk and Marc Dunn.  Our guest preacher on Climate Change is Mr. Stephen Allen from our national church office in the area of Justice Ministries.  His sermon title is “Witnesses of these things”.  The scripture readings are taken from Acts 3:12-19, Psalm 4, 1John 3:1-7 and Luke 24: 36b-48.

Lastly, our congregation has been selected to receive the 2014 Greening Sacred Spaces Award for which we are so grateful.

Come celebrate with us.
Hildy
