Hi Everyone,
This Sunday’s Psalm is #95, verses 1 to 9 only, the gospel reading is from Matthew 4:12-25 and the sermon title is “If God would just text…”
On Sunday, I hope to explore with you the nature of hearing a “call” and what that might look like for us today.
For some at MHP, hearing a “call” has led them to serve on session for a period of 6 years as an elder. Although ordained for life, the term of active service for elders is limited but they can stand for re-election.
I experienced my first session meeting with the elders at MHP on January 20th and am most grateful for the diversity of voices and perspectives who in faith do their best to serve our community of faith. Below, I have listed a few highlights from that meeting. Please keep session in your prayers.

Session Highlights
- For 2016, the congregational meeting (when the budget is formally presented) will happen at the same time as the annual general meeting because session felt it would be too much for the congregation to have two meetings so close together. The date is Sunday, February 28th after worship and there will be a potluck lunch. We hope you are able to join us and that you will keep the meeting in your prayers.
- Session approved the motion to hire a youth coordinator subject to the congregation passing the budget and subsequently finding the best candidate for our needs.
- Session has discussed how best to use the remaining funds from the MHP 125 Appeal. A sound and visual system dominated our discussion. Please keep session in your prayers as currently serving elders seek to serve God faithfully at MHP.
